Step 1. Open SSMS
Step 2. Connect to the Primary Instance of the SQL Server
Step 3. Go to the Always On High Availability folder and expand it (click the + sign)
Step 4. Expand Availability Groups
Step 5. Expand the Availability Group name where your database is a member of
Step 6. Expand Availability Databases
Step 7. Right click on the database you want to remove
Step 8. Select “Remove Database from Availability Group…”
Step 9. Click “Ok” button. You can also script out the command if you wish too.
Sample script to remove the database in the availability group.
